» GENERAL PROVISIONS:

The rules of four days foot walk "The roads of radvilos"

       This is four days Foot Walk event, organized by Lithuanian Armed Forces every year for the memory of one of the representatives of Radvilos dynasty.
       Walk is not commercial event that is scheduled into activity plans of Lithuanian Armed Forces every year. Program of the Foot Walk is to be approved by Commander of Lithuanian Armed Forces.
       Military professionals, reserve military, civilians over 12 years, military and civilians from foreign countries are allowed to attend the Walk.
       Organizational Committee does not bear responsibility for the personal staff and health of the participants.
      
Participants may attend the Foot Walk individually or in groups. Every day walkers have to cover set or chosen distance during the stated time.
       Foot Walk is not competitive event.

» PURPOSE OF THE WALK:

       All participants are to negotiate determinate distance every day but no contest is allowed among participants.
       Aims of the Walk:

a) Educational:
    - Development of an immediate relationship between Army and society.
    - Nurturance of self - expression ideas of soldiers and youth.
    - Purposeful and meaningful leisure time.
    - Development of closer cooperation among units.
b) Patriotic:
    - Development of affection to the nature and motherland.
    - Nurturance of historical and cultural traditions.
    - Development of civil and patriotic education.
c) Integrative:
    - Promotion of an active recreation.
    - Cooperation with an International Walk League.
d) Other:

    - Proof of physical and psychological training.
    - Check and improvement of logistical, engineering, medical supply and maintenance capabilities.

    - Proof of quality of military uniforms and equipment.
    - Cooperation and interoperability among individual military units and civilian agencies.

» REGISTRATION:

       Participants will be registered according to the presented registration forms (1, 2 Form). Registration time is given in the Invitation form.
       During the final registration all participants will be issued Foot Walk cards. These cards also will the permission to enter Training Regiment area until 23.30 hrs.

       Every participant will be issued permission for the private transport to enter Training Regiment. Speed limitation 20 km/hrs.

» ACCOMMODATION:

       All participants and their support groups of regular Foot Walk will be accommodated in the barracks of the Training Regiment free of charge.

       eXtreme participants for the night accommodation at the start site and transitional points are to pay at the registration site.

» CATERING:

       Meal tickets can be ordered in registration forms (1 Form) both by individuals and groups.
       Payment for the meal tickets is to be done at the registration site.
       Meal tickets will be issued at the registration site and can’t be refunded.
       eXtreme participants pay for the meal on their own.

NOTE: breakfast costs ~ 1.5 EURO, supper ~ 1.5 EURO (for civilians will be added mark-up of 15 %).

» CHECK POINTS:

       Check points along the routes will be marked with plague:
"CONTROL" ("KONTROLĖ")

       The group is to be of full composition at the checkpoints and corrections about dropped out participants are to be recorded into group control card.
       Organizational Committee issues individual participants and group leaders with control cards. Cards are to be marked at the start point and finish point every day otherwise committee is allowed to make disqualification of the participants.

» RECOVERY SITES:

       Recovery sites will be established along all Walk routes. There will be provided fresh water, medical assistance, and sale places of snacks. Garbage boxes and lavatory will be established also. Team or group leaders are liable for the cleanliness and good order at the recovery sites.

» PAYMENT:

       Participants pay for the medals and their symbols during the final registration at the registration site.
       1 EURO = 3.45 Lt.
       Prices of medals and their symbols:

       Ordering for the first year Walk:
       - bronze individual medal: 30 Lt; (~9 EURO etc.)
       - bronze medal miniature: 23 Lt.;
       - medal box: 18 Lt;
       - medal ribbon: 17 Lt;
       - eXtreme individual medal (set): 100 Lt;
       - bicyclist medal: 17 Lt.
       - bronze individual medal (set): 95 Lt;

       Ordering for the second, third etc. walk year:
       - walk badge (with walks number): 6 Lt;
       - bronze miniature: 23 Lt.;
       Ordering for the fifth year:
       - silver individual medal (set): 95 Lt;
       - walk badge (with walks number): 6 Lt;

» DISTANCES:

 

       Participants may attend either as individuals or in-groups. Participant has a right to choose the following routes: 4 x 22; 4 x 32; 4 x 42; family: 4 x 12 and eXtreme: 2 x 100 km.

Distances are chosen according to the age (see chart):

» SPECIAL "EXTREME" ROUTE:

       This Walk is considered to be negotiated successfully if the first distance of 100 km is being covered no longer than during 26 hours, then one day is given for the recreation and second part of the distance is to be covered no longer than during 30 hours. During this Walk it is allowed to walk only in-groups and not individually. No bicyclists’ assistance.
       Composition of the eXtreme group:
       - Group leader.
       - 4 members and more.
       If group reduces up to 3 members the group might be attached to the other group.
       All participants of eXtreme must have torches and reflectors on the uniforms.

» PARTICIPANTS OF THE TEAM, GROUP AND WALK:

       Team composition:
       -  team leader;
       -  groups of participants;
       -  bicyclists - assistants;
       -  team supplies group.

       Team leader - does not participate in the walk, but maintains contact between team and Committee. Leader is responsible for:
       -  information concerning group matters;
       -  payment and meal - tickets;
       -  assistance to the committee on the administration procedures;
       -  maintaining of the set regulations.
       -  daily reports for the committee about team health and capabilities.
       -  protection of issued equipment.
       -  good order and cleanliness in the camp.


       Composition of the group participants:
       -  group leader;
       -  walk participants;
       -  bicyclist - assistant.

       Groups of walk participants. Number of participants is not limited. The group might be mixed. The least number of the group - 5. If there are more than 11 members in the group it is allowed to have bicyclist. If there are more then 20 members in the group, it is allowed to have 2 cyclists.

       Group leader is liable for the discipline and contact between team leader and group. He must:
       -  Take control cards from committee on time;
       -  Keep them safe and do not loose;
       -  Mark group card when all participants are at the rest place;
       -  After walk day to mark the card and take other for the second day;
       -  Ensure marching in two files;
       -  Take care about group security in danger situations;
       -  Have band on the left hand with group number for all four days of the walk;
       - Take care of meal tickets payment and group discipline.

       Participant must:
       -  Stick to the Walk regulations;
       -  Apply for first aid in case of health disorder;
       -  Take care about personal staff;
       -  Inform committee about changes concerning walk;
       -  Obey traffic rules.

       Cyclists must:
       -  Have first aid kit;
       -  Supply group during the walk and rest;
       -  Ride to the rest site before the group and prepare it;
       -  Maintain contact between team leader, senior of the rest site, medic and group;
       -  Cyclist is allowed to ride in front or the end of the group. There is forbidden to ride aside the group.

       Team supply group is subordinate to the team leader and is responsible for supply of all team, good order and administration matters. Supply group might be composed considering the size of team. According to the situation group is allowed to use 1 - 2 vehicles to the supply matters.

» AWARDS:

       Diploma:
       All participants will be awarded by Diploma. Actual number of kilometers of the distances will be recorded in the diploma. If participant retreats after first day not having finished the distance Diploma is not presented.
       If participant of the eXtreme (2 x 100 km) terminates Walk in any location of the route Diploma is not presented.

       Medals:
       Medals are presented for participants who covered all set or chosen distances during four days without any breach of the stated regulations.

» LIMITATIONS:

       It is restricted during the walk:
       -  to start jogging or use of any other transport.
       -  to spread political attitudes.
       -  to infringe public order.
       -  to take together any pets.
       -  to obey traffic rules.
       -  to use alcohol or drugs inside of the base.

» OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

       During the Walk it is strongly recommended:
       - Military dress/civilian sweat suit is to be clean and tidy.
       - Organizational Committee doesn’t bear responsibility for the participants’ health and personal stuff.
       - Groups/individuals are allowed to carry various guidons or things related with unit history and heraldry. Singing and chanting is also permissible.
       - Group participants are allowed to walk no more than in two files, obeying traffic rules and using only left side of the road.
       - Bicyclists are allowed to ride either in front of the group or at the end. It’s forbidden riding aside the group.
       It’s forbidden littering up on the roads, in the recovery sites and camps.

» FINAL PROVISIONS:

       Foot Walk participants must get familiar with these regulations and obey them throughout the Walk.
