» HISTORY OF GREAT LITHUANIAN HETMAN JONUSAS RADVILA TRAINING REGIMENT:

       The main mission of the Training regiment is to train conscripts in accordance with basic military training program for all units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
       According to the same Program University graduates and instructors are being trained in the regiment as well.
       Additional tasks are APC'113 drivers' training, English language training and parachuting coordinating and training.

An official day of the establishment of this military training center is the 1st of October 1998.

The first 309 conscripts were drafted for the military service on 12 th April 1999.

Training regiment was named after the Great Lithuanian hetman Jonušas Radvila on 21 st February, 2000

Training regiment was solemnly presented with colors on 26 th May 2000.

In 1998 - 2000 Training regiment was commanded by COL Stasys Levulis.

On 3 rd October 2000 Commanding Officer of the Training regiment was assigned LTC Rimas Zinkevičius.

» TRAINING:

Currtently Lithuanian Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training regiment consists of 2 Training battalions, Rukla Garrison Infirmary, Parachute Training centre, an APC M-113 Drivers training center, English language center and the Gaižiūnai Training Area which consists of 5220 ha.
There were trained 24 classes during the existence of the Training regiment - in total 19700 conscripts.
